CEO & Founder

Tammy Kabell is the founder and CEO of Career Resume Consulting, an executive career firm that is nationally known for helping six figure clients land jobs fast and shave months off their searches. She has been marketing her clients successfully into new careers for nine years, giving them both the competence and the confidence to win the position they love and deserve.

In addition to her stewardship of CRC since 2008, Tammy has five years of experience as a Sr. Marketing Director for one of the largest Executive Career firms in the industry. But Tammy has also been on the other side of the desk, having 18 years of hiring manager experience for both large corporations and small companies.

Tammy is considered a national authority in the hiring industry, having been featured as a career counseling expert multiple times in The Wall Street Journal, MSNBC,,,, the Kansas City Star and dozens of other online and paper publications. She is also author of The Job Search Accelerator Blueprint and Resume Reboot.

For two years, she was the resident career search expert for KCMO 710AM in Kansas City, and hosted a “Monday Morning Job Search Minute” each week on that station. Most recently, she has served as a career adviser for Kansas City Fox affiliate, Fox 4 News.

Serving the greater Kansas City area and the US, Tammy, her husband and two daughters live in Lee’s Summit, MO.

“I would like to tell you more about my career and how it relates to your career goals. I started my career in sales, telecommunications and business services management, and spent some time in the alternative energy field (wind energy, solar, biofuels). But most of my operations experience came from my decade at American Century Investments, where I made hiring decisions for every position from front line customer service to Executive Directors. My hiring manager experience spans 18 years.

In 2003, on the very day of my 10th anniversary with American Century, I was laid off. It was two days after returning from maternity leave with my second daughter. I spent almost an entire year unemployed, with no idea how to find my next executive level position, though I worked very hard at spinning my wheels. By chance, I was found by a recruiter and hired into the one of the largest Executive Career Marketing firms in the industry, where I served as a Senior Marketing Director. It is at this firm I gained insight into what a personal marketing approach can do for an executive job search.

I am often asked to serve as a resource for the local and national community for all topics related to career counseling and hiring. Recent examples include serving on a 4-person expert panel for a conference on large company hiring, jointly supported by the AARP and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and attended by hiring professionals representing 150 of the largest companies in Kansas City. And recently, I was asked to be the resource for determining compensation levels and hiring practices in Kansas City by the leader of a $45 billion dollar business area of JP Morgan’s New York office.
